This one says imported from France but it had a sticker on it in Chinese. Honestly, I don't care. It's amazing. I used maybe 1/4 teaspoon for 40 engagement ring cookies and it's literally perfect. Not sure on taste but the cookies are so pretty! Just mix it with vodka and paint on to dried royal icing. Just perfect. And only one coat needed! Update: Could not taste it at all. The bride wanted it to look like gold leaf but didn't want to pay $55 for it. I suggested edible glitter. I had only ever used a different brand and was not impressed with the shininess so I decided to try this product based on the pictures of it. I was not disappointed! It was so beautiful and easy to apply. I used a soft artist paint brush and applied it directly to the buttercream icing. The bride was very pleased also. I will purchase again. I have looked for a pure gold dust for so long and they all seem to have that mustard tint to them. This is the shiny medal color that I have been wanting. I only needed one coat. It was a very vibrant gold leaf type color ad accented the Gatsby desserts in every way that I wanted. It was used both as a powder, and as a paint and it glittered like gold in both applications. It was used on fondant pieces and brushed onto tuxedo strawberries as an accent. High quality product, and a nice quantity for the money is a very easy open, easy close container. This was my first time using a product like this. I mixed it with a few drops of water to make a "paint". It worked great! However, it does not mix with icing very well. (Icing on top of cake and cupcakes) You won't get the gold color, but the color I ended up with after mixing would make a pretty good skintone. I also took a paint brush and dipped it in the dry dust to sprinkle over the top. I will definitely be getting more colors.
